Rhodium Price Today, in Plain Terms

Rhodium is trading at ₹25,323.11 per gram in India today. If that number looks startling next to gold or silver, it should — rhodium is routinely the most expensive of the commonly-traded precious metals per gram, and unlike gold it doesn't move in small, predictable steps.

There's no MCX contract to watch here, and no LBMA-style daily fix either. Rhodium is thin enough, and specialised enough, that the reference price on this page tracks international PGM dealer quotes converted through the rupee, the same underlying approach this site uses for every metal that lacks a domestic exchange.

  • 1 gram: ₹25,323.11
  • 10 grams: ₹253,231.10
  • 1 troy ounce (31.1035g): ₹787,636.77

Almost nobody buying rhodium at this price point is a retail jewellery customer. The buyers checking this number daily are overwhelmingly industrial: catalytic-converter manufacturers, auto-parts recyclers, and PGM refiners who need to know what a gram of rhodium is worth before they quote a scrap converter or price a new part.

Why This Number Jumps Around More Than Gold's Does

Gold has a mining industry built around gold. Rhodium doesn't have that luxury. It comes out of the ground almost entirely as a byproduct of platinum and palladium mining, concentrated overwhelmingly in South Africa, with Russia as a smaller secondary source. When rhodium demand rises, miners can't simply decide to produce more of it — they're still digging for platinum and palladium first, and rhodium comes along for the ride.

Demand comes from one place, mostly

On the demand side, rhodium's story is unusually concentrated too: catalytic converters, both gasoline and diesel, where it helps cut nitrogen oxide emissions. Platinum and palladium each have other real uses — jewellery, electronics, industrial catalysts — that cushion their price against any single demand swing. Rhodium doesn't have that cushion, which is a large part of why a tightening emissions rule or a supply hiccup in South Africa can move this price far more sharply than it would move platinum or palladium.

Tracking This Rate Going Forward

Because rhodium doesn't have deep, liquid daily trading the way gold does, day-to-day moves can look choppier even when nothing dramatic is actually happening. That's a feature of the market's thinness, not necessarily a signal on its own. Watching the 10-day trend above tells you more than any single day's print.

If you're trying to make sense of a specific move — a sharp jump or a sudden pullback — the factors worth checking first are South African supply news, shifts in platinum or palladium mining output (since rhodium rides along with both), and any change in auto-industry emissions demand. Those three explain most of what happens to this number over time.

Rhodium Price Today — FAQs

Rhodium is trading at ₹25,323.11 per gram in India as of November 1, 2026. That figure updates daily on this page, derived from international rhodium dealer benchmarks converted through the USD/INR exchange rate.

Unlike gold or silver, rhodium has no active futures contract on MCX, and it lacks a major global exchange the way platinum has LPPM or NYMEX. Rhodium is thinly traded and priced mainly through quotes from PGM refiners and specialist dealers, which is why the reference rate here tracks the international dealer benchmark rather than an exchange tape.

Rhodium has, for extended stretches, traded well above gold on a per-gram basis, and it is generally recognised as one of the most expensive commonly-traded precious metals. That said, its price is unusually volatile, so the exact gap between rhodium and gold shifts far more than the gap between gold and silver typically does.

Rhodium is produced almost entirely as a byproduct of platinum and palladium mining, not mined on its own. That means its supply barely responds to rhodium demand at all — a sudden jump in catalytic-converter demand can't simply be met by digging more rhodium out of the ground, and that mismatch is a big part of why the price swings so hard.

Not really, and it is worth being upfront about that. There is no meaningful retail bullion market for rhodium in India — no coin shop quoting a buy-back rate, no widely available bars at your local jeweller. Rhodium is overwhelmingly an industrial and institutional metal; most people who want exposure to its price do so indirectly, through platinum-group-metal mining company shares.
