Checking the SVBC Gold or DP Gold rate? Here's the independent benchmark

MetalsCost is an independent price tracker, not affiliated with SVBC Gold, DP Gold, or any other named retailer. The number below is our own live 24K gold benchmark — ₹15,031.44 per gram on September 14, 2026 — the same spot-linked reference every gold jewellery or bullion seller in India prices against.

Gold price in India — September 14, 2026

We're being upfront here: unlike the large national chains, we could not independently verify much public detail about SVBC Gold or DP Gold's founding history, ownership or scale — SVBC Gold operates as a Chennai-based gold merchant in the T Nagar jewellery district, and DP Gold is a separate bullion business with a presence in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. Rather than pad this page with invented specifics, we're keeping it to what's actually useful: a live rate you can check against either.

Why a retailer's bill won't match this benchmark exactly

Whichever gold merchant you're buying from, a chain, bangle, coin or bar brings in making charges, wastage (for jewellery) and GST on top of the spot-linked base — that part is standard across the Indian gold trade, not something specific to any one seller. A 916 stamp means 22K gold; 999 is used for near-pure 24K. BIS hallmarking confirms purity, but it won't tell you a seller's making charges or premium — that's a question for the counter, not the hallmark.

SVBC Gold Rate — Questions People Ask

No. MetalsCost is independent and not affiliated with SVBC Gold, DP Gold, or any named retailer. This is our own live 24K benchmark — ₹15,031.44 per gram on September 14, 2026 — for comparing against whatever rate a specific store quotes.

22K and 18K, derived from the same 24K base, currently work out to ₹13,778.82 and ₹11,273.58 per gram. A store's own counter rate and making charges can still differ from this benchmark — we have not verified retailer-specific figures.

At today's rate, 10 grams of 24K gold comes to ₹150,314.40 — the clean spot value before any retailer's making charges, wastage or premium.

BIS hallmarking shows the purity stamp on gold jewellery. 916 means 22K gold, while 999 is used for near-pure 24K gold. It confirms purity — it does not tell you a retailer's making charges.
